We stayed 5 nights and very happy that we did. We are snorkellers, not diverse. Marcel arranged to get us on a boat every day, either the dive boat or smaller boat if no other diverse. He can also organize diving trips for guests at other homestays. The coral, fish, and visibility were truly excellent, among the best I've seen. The small resort itself is lovely - rooms very comfortable, and beautifully designed and built. Great bathroom! Meals were excellent, lots of fruit, and local and western dishes c/- Mama Cantika. It's a bit difficult to get to, but Marcel offered good assistance for planning transfers etc.

Although we did not have a chance to stay at this beautiful resort (because it was full, we booked too late), we did have 2 great meals at the resort! Marcel the owner is the sweetest man ever! From the moment we contacted him about the availability of his rooms and the diving, he answered us swiftly on whatsapp.Even though we didn't stay at his place, he offered us lots of valuable advice about other hotels in Tomia, the ferry and boat time table (which keeps on changing and schedule can be very unreliable, so best to check with Marcel again closer to the date of your scheduled journey and make sure you have 1-2 days buffer), the diving information and where to eat near the hotel we ended up staying. He even helped us organize local car transport from and to Wangi²airport/ our Wangi² hotel (he recommended good one for us too), then onward journey to the harbor for Tomia ferry. He did not organize this for a fee, he did that just because he wanted to help out, he is for sure one of the sweetest and most helpful man we have with in Indonesia! In terms of the lunch we had there, it was probably the best food you could have in Tomia (of course we did not count Wakatobi Dive resort as this place to us is too expensive and they probably does not take outside guests). Our lunch consist of appetizers, main and tea/coffee, all very well presented. One day we had lovely fried banana as appetizers, fried chicken with rice and vegetables as main, coffee and ice cream after. The other day (which happened to be my mate's birthday, I requested fish), Marcel's chef cooked us silky pumpkin soup and a delicious fried fish with prawns and fried tempe! to top it up, with a really amazing tomato chilly sauce. Probably the best fried fish we had in Indonesia! The sea view from the dinning area is just superb! If we come back to Tomia again, we would have love to stay at his place or at least have meals there! One last tip, for those who are interested to dine at his beautiful resort, make sure you contact him well in advance thru whatsapp (I got his number from the resort website) so he can prepare extra food ingredients as he normally only cater for his resort guests. Really enjoyed my 6 day stay here. The rooms are comfortable with beautiful views (especially at sunset), great diving, and the owner, Marcel, is very helpful in every way to ensure you have a great holiday

My stay at Marind Dive Eco Resort was an absolute paradise! The diving was spectacular, with vibrant coral reefs and an abundance of marine life. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was delicious. It's an affordable gem compared to more expensive resorts like Wakatobi Dive Resort. Highly recommend Marind Dive Eco Resort for an unforgettable and reasonably priced diving holiday.

My 5 day stay at Marind was not nearly long enough. Marcel and his staff have created a really comfortable and welcoming environment. I've stayed in plenty of more expensive places that didn't have the amenities Marcel has thought of in his bungalows. Mama Cantika's cooking is locally based and delicious, with good variety. Marcel can arrange a boat to take you to a large number of excellent dive and snorkel areas. I came to Wakatobi from Raja Ampat, and the reefs at Tomia are every bit as good as in Papua. Getting there is a bit of an adventure, but Marcel can arrange all transfer logistics. I could attach pictures, but the ones on here are accurate, so no need. Thank you, Marcel and Marind, for a wonderful experience.

We spent a few nights at the Marined Eco Resort and didn't want to leave! Every smallest element of the house was thought out and perfectly matched. The food was wonderful, prepared with great care. You can see that Mama Chiantika puts her whole heart into it! 😊 Our palates were delighted! Thank you! And the most important thing in this place is the owner, who wanted to help us at every step and whether it was 2 weeks before arriving on the island or a week after leaving it, we could always count on him. When we needed to find out where and when the boats from the neighboring islands leave, we knew everything within 15 minutes of contacting Marcel. The perfect person in the perfect place. Helpful, full of heart and patience. Tomia is a wonderful end of the world to which we hope that someday we will be able to return.

We spent 3 nights at Marind and absolutely loved our stay there! The rooms are spacious and well appointed with a front terrace and spacious bathrooms with hot water. The available WiFi worked well although did not reach our room located at one end of the hotel. The hotel is situated on a cliff overlooking the sea (and is not beach front as described on Google map) however a small beach can be reached within a 5 - 10 min walk. The diving equipment was good quality and new and our dive guide was friendly and helpful. Currently the dive center is not located within the hotel and transfer to the dive boat requires a 5 min ride on a scooter. The included meals were decent with a single set menu. If we ever visit Tomia again we would happily stay here a second time!

Sooo great and perfect for leisure, staycation, or even honeymoon. The atmosphere is fascinating. The room itself is built like a wooden stilt house. The most interesting thing is the view in front of the room. The ocean, harbour, and coconut trees. So calming. I had great service during my stay even for the food. The taste, plating, option menu (seafood, western, Indonesian can be ordered by request), cleanliness, hospitality was all perfect. They provide information for exploring Tomia Island as well. Thank you. Would love to come back and stay longer.

I stayed with my family in this small three bungalow plus a huge restaurant and reception resort for 11 nights in March 2021. Bungalows: very convenient and well maintained in natural colors and wood. Superb view towards the sea. TV, fridge, new linen, reading lamps, ceiling fan, very big bathroom with two sinks, spacious. View sunset, West. But you still get the sun in the morning at the bathroom. Food: daily changing menu, special attention to individual diet. Delicious. My favorite dish was "Ayam bakar". Services: very professional and high commitment to standards and quality. Power/Electricity: 24 h Room Service: available. Diving: Collaboration with a local dive center. Excellent boat "Maldives quality" (very clean and spacious) Location: Tomia Island. The island looks good, good supply of food, healthy appearance. Connectivity: Fly Jakarta-Kendari, stay a night in Kendari, fly Kendari-Wanci, stay a night there, take s boat the next morning. Improvement: A huge sink for dive equipment cleaning advisable. Wonderful small resort, brand new and in a stunning location. We ended up staying a week, as we just loved it so much! The bungalows are beautiful, spacious and with lots of lovely details. Best thing is the patio to watch the incredible sunsets every evening. And It's only a few meters down the hill to a white-sandy beach with no people, so the location is really perfect. Marcel, the Dutch Manager, and his team, really did everything to make us feel welcome and relax - the service was very attentive and superfriendly, and the food was just amazing, some of the best we had on our whole trip! And of course, The diving on Tomia is fantastic, we had 3 wonderful dive days with Hilman, the resort's dive master. All in all, it is surely the best choice in Tomia if you don't want to spend so much as the 5 Star resort but still head for great comfort, good service and yummy food. Thanks to Marcel and his team again, we had the best time!

Wonderful place to stay on Tomia island. The location is the best of the island for watching the sunset, the villas are stunningly nice with great eye for detail and comfort and the hosts are very hospitable and welcoming. Best accommodation we had in a whole month Indonesia. We stayed for 4 nights, could have easily stayed the whole week! Besides, the owner does everything to help and arrange transport, like taxi service in Wangi Wangi, arranging the boat to Tomia, pick up from the harbor or providing a scooter bike to explore the island. Also, they do everything to make you feel at ease and provide high above average food for the island. Best value for money you can get and a memorable stay!
